ABOUT MY APPROACH

Am I right for you?

My name is Lea Gaultney. I am the owner and operator of Healthy Energy Pilates.


The heart of my approach is in feeling and connecting.

By integrating things like: alignment, breath, movement, and awareness, you will build a relationship with yourself that leads to your best personal health and wellbeing.

I cultivate a supportive community so you can feel connected and supported in a safe space.

What I am not about:

  • I am not out to get my clients "ripped" or have them pouring sweat and breathing hard. 

  • I do not encourage radical dieting.

  • I am not about the number on the scale.

  • I am not about pushing through pain.

  • I am not about there being one way of anything for anybody.

My views, goals and things you may hear me say:

  • Bodies are complex machines and each is very different

  • Have fun! Smile! Laugh! Crack jokes!

  • Breath can change so many things in your body

  • Be kind to your joints

  • There's a fine line between challenge and pain and we prefer not to cross that

  • Baby steps are the most effective steps that provide long lasting change

  • Feel the feels

  • It's OK!

  • I want my clients to open up and tell me things so I can help them in any way I can. The more you tell me, the more I can help!

  • My personal goal as an instructor is to keep people functional and independent their whole life!

My training background:

I have been a comprehensively trained Pilates instructor since 2008 and became PMA/NCPT certified in 2017. I have taught in physical therapy, studio and online settings. I have a wealth of experience teaching both large and small groups as well as 1:1 instruction. Although much of what I do online is mat based (and some small props), I have extensive experience teaching on a wide range of the Pilates equipment. Some clients do choose to have private instruction using their personal Pilates apparatus at home and I can easily accommodate this. 

I also graduated as a Health Coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in 2015 and provide assistance and accountability in this realm to those who desire it.

I am constantly continuing my education in movement and nutritional wellness and use every bit of that knowledge to assist you in achieving the results you are looking for.

Fitness

PRIVATE TRAINING

Private instruction allows me to tailor your sessions to your body's specific needs. No concerns about what level other students in your class are or what their needs may be - it's total YOU time!
There are plenty of options for apparatus and props (or just a mat and your body) to tailor your sessions.
Through private instruction online we are given the ability to work through exercises no matter how far apart we may be.
You will receive the same level of attention to detail online as you would in person!
All of this, along with my health coach training, which can be another layer in finding optimal wellness, is available to you during private sessions!

How I Can Help: About Us

TAILORED TO YOUR NEEDS

A single session option may work for you if you just need a bit of a tune up here and there (or maybe you're a bit commitment phobic).

However, if you are looking for regular sessions to keep you steadily progressing toward your personal Healthy Energy, a monthly membership is a great option. 

If you are just starting to get back into movement and need shorter sessions, or maybe prefer working out with a buddy in semi-privates, please contact me directly to tailor a a package to your specific needs.
